Coach Christie ran Cross Country and Track at South Gwinnett High School for Gwinnett County Hall of Fame Coach Rick Wood (who the Coach Wood Invitational is named after) and at Berry College for long time coach Paul Deaton, who is still the Head Cross Country/Assistant Track Coach there.  

 

From 1999-2000, he was a substitute teacher and Assistant Boys Cross Country and Track coach at South Gwinnett High School. From 2000-2008, he was a Language Arts teacher, Head Boys Cross Country coach, and Assistant Boys Track coach at Dacula High School. From 2008 to the present he has been a Language Arts teacher,  the Head Boys Cross Country coach,  and an Assistant Boys Track coach at Mill Creek High School.  From 2018 to the present he's been an Assistant Girls Track coach, and from 2018-2021 he was an Assistant Girls Cross Country coach. In 2022 he took over as Head Girls Cross Country coach.​

 

Coach Christie has been fortunate to coach 2 State Cross Country Championship teams, and to assist in a Team State Track and Field State Championship. Several more of his teams have finished in the top 4 at the State Cross Country Meet and he's assisted on top 4 Track and Field State teams. He's coached numerous Region Championship XC/Track teams, 3 Gwinnett County Cross Country Championship teams, and many successful individual runners.  Coach Christie lives in Lilburn with his wife Katie and daughters Abbey and Lily. ​

Bachelors Degree in English Major/Education Minor from Berry College

Masters Degree in Education from Walden University

Specialist Degree in Education from Lincoln Memorial
